Vacation Time
The first day of my summer vacation starts today and the weather is cooperating perfectly.
I'm stuck at the house waiting for the gas man to do his 6 month "mandatory" inspection, which is fine as the weather is great for some gardening.
VBS ends tonight, it's been a successful week with an evangelist/magician for the kids. over 100 every night and no mishaps!

Pray for Peace
Psa 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.
We are commanded to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Whether or not we love them is up to us but "they shall prosper that" do.
If you're a bible believing Christian you don't need this reminder hopefully...let's all think on it with the verse quoted in mind though.
The Jews are Gods chosen people and for this time of "grace" He has chosen to bless us gentiles...but we dare not get proud and puffed up as the Jews once did as God will again judge the world and pour His grace out on Jerusalem and His wrath on those that oppose her.
These things are prophesied in Gods word and therefore WILL come to pass...my opinion and yours about the Jews is irrelevant.
Let us continue to support the Jews and pray for them as we pray for our government as it deals with our mutual enemies. If the USA ever turns her back on Jerusalem, we will incur the wrath of God along with the rest of the world.
I told you I was getting serious today...God Bless!
Summer Arrives
Does it seem like Spring was a bit longer that usual?
Summer arrives tomorrow which means the year is half over already. My
roses are finishing up their first flush of blooms and despite the humidity the black spot is not terrible this year. I have sprayed three times thus far and used a systemic treatment twice as well.
OK economy...second half is here and it's time for you to perk up.
I know I'm doing my part...spending every extra cent I an get my mitts on.
Tomorrows post will be quite a bit more serious...I feel one coming!

Mike has a new ISP
RCN was here today and installed Cable Modem service.
You may know the irritating problems I was having with ny DSL line. It was a small problem, but a LARGE irritation.
Initially the speed test with RCN was 40 kbps, which is AWFUL!!! I was so depressed that I was ready to scream.
OK, a good time to check out tech support for RCN I thought. After navigating throught the menu...one ring and a real person answered the phone! The phone promptly went dead and I though for sure I'd been cursed by the demon of the internet.
I persisted and dialed and pecked through the menu and after one ring that helpful voice asked how he could help me again.
He wouldn't do anything until I sent him a screen shot of the test results from DSLreports.com, after which he reset the modem settings while I waited and rebooted and performed another test. Now we are cooking with gas baby! 1100 down and 768 upload speeds, which judging from other testers at DSLreports is on the low end of RCN's normal speeds. Well...I'm a happy boy anyhow...now on to the chat client test...will I get dropped every few minutes? Tune in for the continuing story.

River Walk
(click highlighted text to view pics )
Took a looong walk along the Lehigh River from the
Chain Dam north.
The flora is thick and fragrant right now.
Honeysuckle was literally dripping down everywhere.
The fragrance was enought to make your mouth water, enticing enough that I had to stop and taste some myself.
The
bees were so busy getting their own they didn't even notice me.

Feels Like Summer
I know Summer doesn't start for another two weeks but it sure felt like it was here yesterday.
It hit 90 degrees with humidity of 70%. My son and I drug the last two air conditioners down from the attic...perspiration dripping from both of us.

I'm so tired this morning...whatever happened to the good old days when it didn't phase me to sit at the PC until 1 AM.
Order flow is picking ever so slightly here at work...fortunately I have a guy on disability (unfortunate for him) which allows more work for the rest of us.
There goes my hope of an extended spring vacation :(
