Easter
Had one great Easter Day...Sunday School class was a challenge with the glue and tissue paper craft going on in the same kitchen pizzas were being baked. Now I know how cooks in those busy restaurant kitchens feel. Then on to the most tender ham I've ever had sitting at a card table. ( just kidding Val )
I'm not even going to complain about the rain that finally arrived this evening, although I'd like to get outside tomorrow and do some more gardening. My pea patch (you know...the one our neighborhood cats use for a litter box) needed some rain as none of the seeds have sprouted yet.
Had a "real" chat with my son on the drive up to the Poconos for dinner, I think we have finally emerged from those most dreaded "teenager" years. Now where are we? Hmmmm

Welcome Peer-to-Peer Project Reviewer
Just received an email with my Peer-to-peer Review Project assignment.
By April 8th someone will be writing an inspired and hard hitting dissertation on this very Blog.
It's been decades since someone has critiqued my work.
Although I do get judged every day by my employer, but that's a whole different world there.
OK...have at me...I can take it!

Vacation !
Five glorious days off work!
Spent over 5 hours in the garden today...it was almost 70 degrees outside.
I actually had to do quite a bit of weeding, and I planted 7 Clematis.
Also pruned 4 out of about 12 rose bushes. With the rose trimmings and other garden trash I filled all three of my trash cans.
That was after dumping about three cans in the compost bin. I may have to "borrow" a couple of the neighbors cans tomorrow to finish the roses.
So yes all in all it was a "Good Friday"...

So far so good...Cory was released Tuesday night and is feeling good.
We are still waiting for the test results.
This experience with him in the hospital is bringing back some of the emotion that I experienced after Cory's accident 3 years ago.
It's interesting how we are wired...I had to revisit a place that I'd left behind...it couldn't be avoided.
Also...I knew that only HE could help me through...even a warm hug and an I love you from Cory was not enough.
Kind words from caring friends helped only for a brief moment...it was only as I took my fears and frailties to the Lord that I found the comfort and assurance I needed.
Yes it's true that the love of friends and family are an immense help, but I find that His comfort is a deeper more substantial one.
It's surely the Lords comfort that I long for the most anyway :)
I know I'm going to be soooo embarrased when I read this in a week !

Cory was admitted to the hospital last night with an infection.
He sounds good today and hopefully will be getting out this afternoon.
Your prayers are appreciated.

The daffodils survived...they are standing tall :)
Now if I can just keep the pesky cats out of my pea patch!
Sunday, March 24, 2002
Daffodils came up and got blown down and frozen :(
I think they are trying to come back, occasionally one struggles to stand up.
Perhaps this weeks FULL MOON will bring the warm weather our way.
BTW: Friends are forever you know.
More on that subject later...Have a great PALM SUNDAY.

SPRING HAS SPRUNG
Ok...I know you already know this fact.
I just like to say it...the sun was out today and the daffodils bloomed.
The neighbors cat pooped in my pea patch.
My son got a flat tire.
My "X" called for a loan.
You see where I'm going here...SPRING HATES ME!
Tomorrow...I eat a chinese delicacy ;)
Tell my secretary to hold my calls
And re-tire !

Looks like I'm on a bi-monthly posting schedule here :)
I've been starting seeds for the garden, maybe I'll save some money this year on plants.
The packet of seeds say that Four-o-Clocks take up to 21 days to germinate. Here they are after 20 days.
You think they're germinated yet?
Had to transplant them into my homemade newspaper pots already.
I am so excited about the onset of Spring in only 12 days!
Many seedlings pushing up out of their peat pots, which by the way are the best thing for seed starting.
Just 8 cents each and no messing with dirt, just pop 'em in the ground when spring hits and your done.
