KJV Bible Conference
The conference has ended and it was an encouraging experience despite the title
"The Famine Has Begun" one night.
Dr. Fedena is a polished speaker, but down to earth as well. Tuesday’s introduction referenced satans dislike of, and efforts in opposition of efforts directed at preservation and defense of the KJV bible, and criticisms of the NEW versions as well.
Incidentally, this is the second attempt at this writing as my XP machine crashed in the middle of the first writing. If you are running XP you know that crashes are far more rare than with other Windows versions, perhaps it's a coincidence?
Anyway I'm posting intermittently just in case.
Instead of just "trashing" the new versions Dr. Fedena devoted much effort highlighting the positive aspects of the KJV and it's history.
The KJV 1611 has been the most widely used bible by "believing" Christians for hundreds of years, just the fact that it's brought us this far is testimony itself. It also was translated from "traditional texts" used since early AD. Your KJV old testament reads much the same as a "traditional" Jewish scripture. It is often cited by new versions that changes are based on the most "ancient" texts.
This is not the whole truth...the text that the KJV was translated from are older TEXT but newer COPIES. This is easily understood if you look at how the bible was written used and preserved. Scribes would have to make copies by hand, and it has been noted that these copies were checked dozens if not more times for errors. The older (worn out from use) copies were then destroyed, thus a newer COPY from an OLDER text. On the other hand you know how often you typical catholic will open that family bible that now sits on the top shelf of the closet somewhere in a box under a stack of boxes, away from light and moisture...well you get the idea, that catholic bible will last FOREVER.
NB: I copied and pasted the text above into Word for spell checking...Word prompted me to capitalize "satan".
There were also approximately 5000+ manuscripts available to back up the KJV translation and only TWO for the newer versions translation of the NT, both Roman Catholic.
I mentioned the title
"The Famine Has Begun" above, the famine refers to the lacking doctrines and such in the newer versions, and I think it would be beneficial to list that outline here. The references should be compared with the KJV and your newer version.
You will see clearly why the message was titled as it was.

In Defense of the KJV
I'll just post an outline with references here on the first night of the KJV Bible Conference.
It was a great night and I am bumming over the realization I just missed night number two.
Today of course is Presidents Day and I had company all afternoon, after which I took a nap and nuked a frozen dinner.
Never giving a thought to tonights meeting at church...even when Amy called to tell me she needed more checks.
I guess I'll have to get the tape...
OK on to the brief outline.
Stranger Than Fiction
Things Supernatural
Bible is a living Book Heb. 4:12
Bible is a personal Book Gal. 3:7,8
Bible is an Eternal Book Rom. 9:17
Things Scientific
Cosmology Isa. 40:21
Meteorology Ecc. 1:6,7 Job 25:5
Job 38:16 & 22
Medicine Lev. 15:13 Deut. 23:12,13 Gen. 17:12 Job 37:6,7
Things Strange
Middle Word in the bible "The Lord"
Middle Word in middle verse Ps. 118:8 "The Lord"
Numerical Wonders Jn. 3:34 Jn 14:23 Jn 8:44
NB: The references above refer mostly to Divine Inspiration of things that were never known or "proven" until recent history and lend great to proving inspiration. Most "other" versions of the bible do not contain these evidences. I've yet to check any other versions, but it would be a valuable bible study to be sure.
Dr. Fedena will hopefully provide written notes on these sermons...I for one cannot concentrate on a message while taking detailed notes at the same time.
For instance he detailed nicely the horrid history of spiritism and evolutionism in the lives of Wescott and Hort (not sure of spelling)
whos work is the foundation of most ALL other versions of the bible.
I don't intend to miss the next two meetings.

Perhaps I'll summarize each night here also. Now if I only had a pocket PC to take notes I'd be set wouldn't I?

Valentines Day
A few quotes about LOVE to ponder
An anthropoligist once asked a Hopi why so many of his people's songs were about rain. The Hopi replied that it was because water is so scarce. Is that why so many of our songs are about love?
"We will only be at peace when the power of love conquers the love of power."
Jimmi Hendrix
love is an ideal thing, marriage a real thing; a confusion of the real with the ideal never goes unpunished.
Goethe
"Anyone can hate. It costs to love."
John Williamson
"When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants, and murderers, and for a time they can seem invincible, but in the end they always fall. Think of it... always."
Mahatma Gandhi
"Why does free love cost so much?"
Graffiti
"Was it love, or was it the thought of being in love?"
Pink Floyd, "One Slip"
If you think you love 2 people at once then you don't love either enough.
Micaela Logan
We have just enough religion to make us hate, but not enough to make us love one another.
Johnathan Swift
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son..." John 3:16
Now there is true LOVE :)
