KJV Bible Conference
The conference has ended and it was an encouraging experience despite the title
"The Famine Has Begun" one night.
Dr. Fedena is a polished speaker, but down to earth as well. Tuesday’s introduction referenced satans dislike of, and efforts in opposition of efforts directed at preservation and defense of the KJV bible, and criticisms of the NEW versions as well.
Incidentally, this is the second attempt at this writing as my XP machine crashed in the middle of the first writing. If you are running XP you know that crashes are far more rare than with other Windows versions, perhaps it's a coincidence?
Anyway I'm posting intermittently just in case.
Instead of just "trashing" the new versions Dr. Fedena devoted much effort highlighting the positive aspects of the KJV and it's history.
The KJV 1611 has been the most widely used bible by "believing" Christians for hundreds of years, just the fact that it's brought us this far is testimony itself. It also was translated from "traditional texts" used since early AD. Your KJV old testament reads much the same as a "traditional" Jewish scripture. It is often cited by new versions that changes are based on the most "ancient" texts.
This is not the whole truth...the text that the KJV was translated from are older TEXT but newer COPIES. This is easily understood if you look at how the bible was written used and preserved. Scribes would have to make copies by hand, and it has been noted that these copies were checked dozens if not more times for errors. The older (worn out from use) copies were then destroyed, thus a newer COPY from an OLDER text. On the other hand you know how often you typical catholic will open that family bible that now sits on the top shelf of the closet somewhere in a box under a stack of boxes, away from light and moisture...well you get the idea, that catholic bible will last FOREVER.
NB: I copied and pasted the text above into Word for spell checking...Word prompted me to capitalize "satan".
There were also approximately 5000+ manuscripts available to back up the KJV translation and only TWO for the newer versions translation of the NT, both Roman Catholic.
I mentioned the title
"The Famine Has Begun" above, the famine refers to the lacking doctrines and such in the newer versions, and I think it would be beneficial to list that outline here. The references should be compared with the KJV and your newer version.
You will see clearly why the message was titled as it was.
